Membership

Membership is available to:

  • DOJ Employees
  • Contractors (with signed contractor release form from employer)
  • Non-DOJ Government Employees working within the DOJ (with signed contractor release form from employer)

All prospective members must submit a completed application for membership and have initiation fee ($35) paid, before utilizing the fitness centers. Devaluation of the application, JOHO Staff may provide further pre-participation medical clearance/ waiver paperwork based on responses in the application. The Fitness Staff will also provide an orientation to the fitness center, which will include, the group exercise studio, weight rooms, and locker rooms.

To become a member:

  1. Complete JOHO membership application and return it to the JOHO Fitness Center Staff
  2. Review Rules and Regulations, Waiver and Release  and the Informed Consent for Participation
  3. Submit Initiation Fee of $35 via credit card, cash or check made payable to JOHO;
  4. Select Membership Payment type:
    • Payroll Deduction (preferable) (DOJ) – submit unmasked confirmation page showing payroll deduction; or
    • Payment by month, quarter, half-year or annual – credit card, cash or check made payable to JOHO;
  5. If you are a contractor, submit signed contractor release form from employer.

    • Annual Fee – $494.00
    • Half Year Fee – $247.00
    • Quarterly Fee – $124.00
    • Monthly Fee – $42.00
    • Payroll Deduction – $19.00
  • NON-DOJ EMPLOYEES
    • Annual Fee – $546.00
    • Half Year Fee – $273.00
    • Quarterly Fee – $137.00
    • Monthly Fee – $47.00
  • DOJ Interns (applications specific to interns can be received at the JOHO Fitness Center
    • $60.00 (flat rate- covers you for the entirety of your internship)

Member services:

  • Fitness Assessments – Measure muscular endurance, muscular strength, flexibility, resting heart rate, blood pressure, body composition, and circumference.
  • Goal Setting Sessions – Assist members set fitness goals based on personal assessment results and objectives.
  • Personalized Exercise Plans – Create personalized exercise programs to meet member’s goals and interests that are designed with safety and success in mind.
  • Equipment Orientations – Provide personalized assistance to members about all fitness center equipment.
  • Nutrition Consultations – Guide members through proper nutritional information to achieve healthy and well-balanced eating habits.
  • Challenge and Incentive Programs – Offer monthly programs to motivate and encourage members to achieve their health and fitness goals.
  • Webinars, and Lunch & Learns: Provide additional programs on various health and fitness topics.
  • Frequent Communications: Offer JOHO website, newsletter, blog, and social media outlets.

Member Services available for additional fees:

  • Personal Training
  • Virtual Personal Training
  • Partner Training
  • Small Group Training. 

 

During these fee-based services, trainers will lead effective training sessions customized towards member’s goals.  

Lockers:

  • Daily-use lockers – There are also daily-use lockers that are available to use during daily visits to the fitness centers without cost.
  • Long-term rental lockers – Lockers are presently available for rent on an annual basis at both active JOHO locations.
  • Locker payments are to be paid by credit card, cash or check made payable to JOHO.
  • Full Size Lockers – Available at RFK & 3CON
    • $60 annually 
  • Small Storage Lockers – Available at RFK
    • $40 annually
  • Lockers may be rented at any time (subject to availability). 
  • Lockers are non-transferable and the fees are non-refundable.
  • Recommendations – It is recommended that members use a personal lock to keep valuables safe. The JOHO fitness team and the Board of Directors are not responsible for items lost, stolen, or damaged.  Gym bags are not permitted on any of the fitness floors, or in the group exercise studio.  Personal belongings are not to be left overnight in daily-use lockers, or on top of the locker bays.  Items left in daily-use lockers at other times will be removed, and discarded.
