Has it been hard for you to stay accountable during these times? Did you have any goals set for you this summer that you keep putting on hold? Well this post today is going to help get you back into that mindset to keep yourself accountable with fitness or nutrition at home!
An online article stated that the more consistently you workout and make the workouts more convenient that more motivated an individual will be to workout especially at home. Follow these five steps:
1. Be apart of an Online Fitness Community
One of the most effective ways to stay accountable when you work out at home is to join an online fitness community where you can share your goals and progress. Join in on online classes and fitness programs/challenges to make sure you are staying accountable.
2. Recruit a Friend
Recruiting a friend or family member can help keep you motivated to workout. Still practicing physical distancing invite a friend to workout with you outside or sign up for the same online fitness programs that way you both can hold each other accountable and even have a little fun competition.
3. Put in On the Calendar
Schedule your workouts like you would schedule your doctors appointment or work meetings. Figure out a time of day when you the energy and motivation to workout then mark that down as a daily recurrence on your calendar! If you are a night person, don’t pick your workouts to be at 5 am or 6am, find realistic times in your day that work best for you.
4. Reward Yourself
Set SMART goals. Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Timely. Once you have made a goal find a highly desirable reward you’ll give yourself when you achieve your goal. It’s important that you choose a reward that motivates you and supports your healthy lifestyle. An example could workout gear, home decorations, car accessories, or a trip.
5. Track Your Progress
Seeing your results of your hard work can help you stay on track! You can track your results on your watch, iPhone, computer, or your calendar. It’s also to track your results because if you aren’t seeing any positive results it can also give you an extra push you need to stay on track with your goals.
Follow these five steps to hold yourself accountable while at home and see those results you are striving to accomplish! Keep finding the motivation during this challenging time.
