Do you have a fitness equipment at home, but don’t understand the purpose of the equipment?  This guide will go over the top fitness equipment you can use at home to build muscular strength, flexibility, and even cardio.

Strength

  • Resistance Bands– wrap around your quads, ankles, or slightly above your knees during squats, bridges, or banded walks to help activate your glutes.
  • Medicine Balls-  an all around fitness tool that ranges in weight. This fitness tool can be lifted, thrown, or slammed to increase your strength conditioning.
  • Dumbbells- can be used for a variety of exercises. Dumbbells allow the user to focus on one arm or leg at a time, which is one way to initiate strength gains by using a heavy overload.
  • Kettlebells- From goblet squats to swings, a kettlebell allows for myriad strength moves in limited space.
  • TRX- a full-body training system that helps you build muscle while perfecting your posture and alignment. You can change the degree of difficulty by changing your body angle. Make sure to anchor to a wall or sturdy door.

Flexibility/Core

  • Yoga Block- allows you to perfect certain yoga poses by helping keep your body in proper alignment, but it can also double as a mini toning tool
  • Sliders- enhance classic body-weight exercises like lunges, mountain climbers, and pikes by creating a greater stability challenge as you glide across surfaces.
  • Balance Ball- challenges your posture while forcing you to work those core muscles.  It’s also great for stretching.

Cardio

  • Jump Rope– helps improve coordination, and also burns major calories. Did you know one study found that 10 minutes of jumping rope can be equivalent to a 30-minute jog.
  • Step High Step Aerobic Platform -You can use it for cardio and explosive exercises, to advance moves or make them easier.

Overall, you don’t need to go out and purchase expensive equipment. All of these options are affordable and useful. You can use equipment in online classes or even add it to your own workout routine.
