National Health Center Week

August 9th- August 15th.

The National Association of Community Health Centers has been celebrating the work and services that community health centers have been providing to special populations within their communities for over 30 years. It’s important that we recognize that these health centers have provided affordable, high quality, cost effective health care to medically vulnerable and undeserved people throughout the United States.

When COVID-19 hit, health centers around the world moved quickly to shift to tele-health offerings and set up thousands of testing sites across the country—both stationary and mobile, while putting their own lives on the line. It’s important this week that we recognize all the hard work these centers and their amazing employees have done over the past 30+ years, and during this global pandemic.

Follow along with each focus day during the week:

Sunday-August 9th: Public Health in Housing Day

Monday- August 10th: Healthcare For the Homeless

Tuesday- August 11th: Agricultural Worker Health Day

Wednesday- August 12th: Patient Appreciation Day

Thursday- August 13th: Stakeholder Appreciation Day

Friday- August 14th: Health Center Staff Appreciation Day

Saturday- August 15th: Children’s Health Day

It’s important that we recognize these amazing people that are risking their lives everyday to help millions of people. If you would like to learn more or follow different events happening this week visit the National Health Center Website to learn more: https://healthcenterweek.org
