Summer Wrap Up

A vacation away from the stress of work and the demands of life- is the perfect way to recharge you mind and body. However, after two weeks in the sun, sweet drinks, and a bunch of junk food, it can be hard to put all those fun times behind you and resume your workouts. It is normal in the summer, but it sometime can last longer than two weeks and now you may find yourself not working out for a whole month. Below are a few tips to help guide you back into your fitness routine as we slowly come to the end of summer.

Tip 1: Define your goal
Finding motivation to get back into fitness is the biggest step. However, if you set aside some time to think what you goals are moving forward in fitness that it can help gear you in the right direction. Example think about why you workout? Once you’ve discovered that answer think of a short term goal that correlates with that reason.

Tip 2: Make your own Calendar
Creating your own calendar will allow you to pick your days that you intend on working out. This will help set time for your fitness, but also for other things within your life. Also trying different Apps on your phone can help make this process a lot easier.

Tip 3: Join a Class or a Personal Trainer
Not only does trying something new keep you engaged and excited, but it can hold you accountable. Try a HIIT class or Barre class to maximize your fitness success.

Tip 4: Rally the Troops
If fall is providing a new start and a return to fitness for you, it’s most likely the same for others too. Schedule to workout with a friend, partner, family members, co-worker, etc. at least once per week. Working out with other people is proven to increase the amount of exercise a person does.

Tip 5: Just Do It
Anything is better than nothing. A mere 15 minutes or 45 minutes per day of physical activity is better than just sitting on the couch. Go buy new fitness gear to help get you out to the gym or ready for virtual classes. Do what is best for you. If you have low motivation try out 10 minute workouts daily to help keep you active.

Overall, the longer you stay away the harder it is to come back. Therefore, start with these 5 tips as you start back up in your fitness routine.
